SPRING 2026 BABIES

We will be breeding all of our farm animals for babies next spring, and we can’t wait to welcome the new generation of sweet farm babies! We are in the process of carefully selecting the sire that will be contributing to making the next generation of Ravenwood Farm Highlands! We are also preparing (with the advice from our vet) for the “go ahead” on breeding. We have decided that it is best for our heifers to be AI at least for their first time pregnancies.

Below are pictures of our two heifers; Honey (D.O.B. 04/14/2024) and KoKo (D.O.B. 04/02/2024) when they were first born. Honey is a Red Mid-Size highland, and KoKo is a true “Miniature” Dun color highland. My fingers are crossed for a silver baby from Koko! They are going to make beautiful calves!

Along with our highlands, we will be welcoming KuneKune piglets, Nigerian Dwarf Goats, and are starting the Valais Blacknose Sheep “Breed Up Program”. So much research goes into breeding Valais as it is absolutely necessary to breed to the Swiss Standard. They are deemed to be “the cutest sheep in the world!” And you will definitely see why!
